Our Calibers and Varieties

Our Calibers and Packaging Formats

In Spain, onion sizes are governed by numbers. Number 1 corresponds to the largest size; the higher the number, the smaller the onion size.

The correspondence between number and onion diameter is as follows:

Caliber (Nacional, no.)

Diameter (mm)

No. 1

100 mm and more

No. 2

90 - 110 mm

No. 3

80 - 100 mm

No. 4

70 - 90 mm

No. 5

60 - 80 mm

No. 6

50 - 70 mm

No. 7

40 - 60 mm

No. 8

30 - 45 mm

However, when exporting to other countries, they may require other sizes.

We can perfectly adapt to the European sizing system if required by the client, which is based solely on the onion’s diameter in millimeters: 40–60 mm, 50–70 mm, 60–80 mm, 70–90 mm, and 80–100 mm. These are the most common sizes and packaging formats.
